Galvanized Sheet

Galvanized Sheet

In order to increase the corrosion resistance of the steel sheet, its surface is coated with zinc by dipping or electrolytic coating method. Coating is generally done on both surfaces as a total of 100-300 gr/square meter. By applying chromate solution or oil to the surface of the coated material, it is protected against white rust.

Advantages over Cold Sheet

High Corrosion Resistance: Zinc coating provides an excellent corrosion resistance to the galvanized material, as the zinc acts as a barrier against corrosive elements. The final service life depends on the thickness of the coating and the corrosiveness of the environment (humid, salty, etc.).

Perfect surface appearance: It can be used without any surface treatment.

Formability: Since Galvanized Sheets retain their forming properties, they can be deep drawn and easily shaped.

Paintability: It can be painted easily after suitable surface pre-treatment. It allows it to be presented and shaped as painted sheet metal to the end user by being painted before use.

Weldability: Can be welded by many known welding methods.

General usage areas

Galvanized sheet metal, which has corrosion resistance and is very suitable for use by painting, is the type of material that best meets the requirements of the automotive industry. It is used by automotive manufacturers in the production of both interior and exterior parts, thus providing a lifetime warranty against corrosion.

In the construction sector, hot-dip galvanized sheets are given a suitable form and have found a wide application area as roof covering, panel or sandwich panel on the interior and exterior surfaces of buildings.
Due to its longevity, it is the preferred product in the manufacture of white goods (as plain on invisible surfaces and as painted sheet on visible surfaces) and in the manufacture of ventilation equipment.
